Save The Family – PATCH 5 Project
PATCH Project has it’s first session at Save the Family tomorrow at Plas Bellin Hall. Save the Family is an organisation that works with familes who have become homeless and helps them to stay together, offering a safe environment and support. JMUpstart Dance Company 2011/12
JMUstart company members are now on their final stretch of the Dance Studies Degree programme, and have a very busy semester! Performances include audition days @ LJMU, Halton Dance Festival, undergraduate dance platforms and Spring Dance Festival @ LJMU. Outreach students are also just as busy with PATCH project up and running, Primary and Secondary school placements, teaching undergraduate classes and also performing in Spring Dance Festival @ LJMU. PATCH Project is starting in JANUARY.
PATCH is an ongoing arts project in it’s fifth year. The project was created by JMUpstart Dance Company along with the Artistic Director four years ago, which focuses on “engaging young people at risk of exclusion in a range of inclusive artistic activities”. PATCH works with organisations in the North West and creates a range of work such as documentaries, film dance and performances. This year we are hoping to get more people from accross the arts involved in the project. For more information on the project as a whole see here.
Independent Dance Managers Network
The IDMN is small unincorporated association which was established in 2002 by Claire Morton and Joe Bates.

supporting, advocating and developing an independent dance infrastructure for
the industry; raising awareness of the role/work of independent managers;
providing training, education and services that increase the extent, efficacy
& impact of independent dance management; acting as a focal point for
info & events”
I have found their website very informative as a dance administrator, especially as it provides important outsourcing ideas and other useful resources.
